Izza Kizza’s name originates from the ‘Pig Latin’ lyrics of Frankie Smith’s creative left field hit, “Double Dutch Bus” and perfectly captures this Southern Hip-Hop artist’s funky electro-stuttering rhyme style, the outrageous lyrics, his groundbreaking creativity and outgoing charismatic personality. Self defined, Izza Kizza means discovering your own lane, breaking the mold, being yourself and celebrating ones own uniqueness. Izza Kizza also describes how he makes his art by putting his “Izza Kizza” on every track with his unique, hyper-outlandish, syncopated rhyme style unseen and unequaled since the late ‘90s?

With humble beginnings on the poor streets of Valdosta, Georgia, Izza Kizza was mesmerized by storytelling and rhythmic freedom of his mother’s Al Green and Otis Redding records and discovered his love of music. At age 12, Izza formed his first R&B group and subsequently fell in love with Hip-Hop after hearing other great storytellers like Biz Markie. Craving a larger audience for his music as he got older, he moved to Pittsburgh, PA and signed with the popular indie label Dogumout.

Later, when his first single dropped into heavy rotation on Hot 97 and made him a local celebrity, Izza came to the attention of production duo Soul Diggaz and relocated to New Jersey to further his music career. There, he collaborated with renowned Hip-Hop artist Missy Elliot on the song “Walk the Dawg.” This success caught the attention of superstar producer Timbaland, who quickly signed him to his record label Mosley Music Group/Interscope Records.

Constantly changing and evolving, Izza’s eclectic image can only be described as an extension—an expression—of his personality. His Internet-influenced genesis, representative of today’s youth and their direction, includes videos, album artwork, promotional material, and viral marketing campaigns—all intertwined with the same imaginative, left-field colorful world of Kizza’s mind and music.

Not taking himself too seriously, Izza Kizza strives to go against the grain of the Rap artist’s posturing image and revels in the refreshingly fun evolution of Hip-Hop in today’s mainstream culture—solidifying him as a cornerstone icon in the music world.
