I’m normally skeptical of these kinds of remixes but this one, by Germany’s The Big Beat crew, is actually really good! Check it:

Why are these two things lumped together? Because the homie, Nick Catchdubs is not only an O.G, blogger extraordinaire but also the co-owner, along with Kanye tour DJ and fellow Canadian, DJ A-Trak, of Fool’s Gold Records, the label that first introduced the world to Kid Cudi! Here’s their latest compilation project, Fool’s Gold Vol. 1 for sale at fine digital outlets everywhere but streaming for you right here:

* I think this might be my favorite record on the comp’ mostly ‘cos it sounds like some old school deep house sh-t. So glad that sound seems to be coming back into vogue.
Now hit the jump one of Nick’s DJ mixes from earlier this year but just posted to his new Soundcloud, Pink Lemonade. (more…)
Maybe I’m not as up on my Wiz Khalifa music as I need to be but why is he making a Young Jeezy knock-off-style record?
Still one of the most unheralded (and possibly who Jay-Z ‘stole’ his signature peak mid-career flow from). He dropped two mixtapes last year that were straight bananas! Love this track and video – real Black punk rock, hip hop sh-t. Extra props for the 3XDope Philly reference.
