MP3: Beat Junkies (Eclipse feat. Arcee) – World Premiere (prod. Jake One) [direct download – right click & save as]
Gotta thank the homie, Del from Vibes and Stuff for the heads up on this one.
This is Arcee from The Real Frequency featured on a track from the 1998 album, The World Famous Beat Junkies, Vol. 2. Had no idea he was an artist but dude really walks it like he talks it! He’s not just another frustrated, wannabe MC (“You wanna be an MC…”) blogging. Not only is he a radio personality on a real, commercial radio station, not just college or internet radio (no disrespect intended to those who do that) but he has actually made some real deal, honest-to-goodness records too! And they’re on some real hip hop ish to boot, respect! And for you hip hop historian, nerd types out there, this was apparently Jake One‘s first official production and features beat juggling by DJ Rhettmatic of the Beat Junkies.
Also look out for Arcee’s “Super Educated” and the posse cut, “Stripes” featuring Kardinal Offishall, Brassmunk and IRS on the homeboy, Beni B’s ABB Records.
Bonus:
Hit the jump for a brand new (and FIYA!) track, “Sneak Sneak” by Arcee & Marvel from an upcoming project called Covert Ops.
Not bad. I’ve featured this kid before on the old Kitchen. Flow-wise, he reminds me a little of MIMS (“The Black George Constanza…”??!) on this new track that dropped on Jan 11 (d’uh!), but I digs the beat….

Diplo: “One cool thing about the BlackBerry Torch is that you can actually make applications out of some of your favorite websites. So I have like the Mad Decent website always on my front page.”

From Reign:
“This is the first single off of The Free Trade Agreement, originally an idea from Canadian Shadyville DJ’s representative DJ DOW JONES, has snowballed into one of the most anticipated projects in 2 countries for 2011. The project is focused on creating a solid working relationship with talent in both Canada and The United States. It will feature over 18 individuals working together to create one solid project. Meshing the sounds of Canadian producers with American artists, and vice versa, is a simple concept but has proven to yield incredible results. DJ Dow Jones has also enlisted the talents of another Shadyville Dj, Mr. Peter Parker together they have scouted some of the hottest talents in both countries and combined them all into one packaged project The Free Trade Agreement. With a first quarter release slated, we can all expect enough new music to last us the entire year. Stay Tuned!”
Hmm, sounds like a project I’ve been trying to get off the ground for closing in on a year now that Reign was supposed to be a part of of! Just sayin’….
