Kool G. Rap is one of the early pioneers of what is now known as ‘gangsta’ rap and is IMHO, the reason we have the Ready to Die album and Nas sounds the way he does. He is still one of my all-time faves and as real as it gets as far as hip-hop goes. Glad to see him getting w/ the times and giving away some music but doing it in a smart way! Dude’s still got it. Newbies: check this out then go back and listen to his early back catalog, in particular Road to the Riches and Wanted: Dead or Alive.
