At the Embassy Night Club to benefit awareness about prostate cancer and the Black community.

Canadian Black men are 65% more likely to get prostate cancer than white men and almost three times more likely to die from the disease. This is no joke! In fact, someone in my immediate family was just diagnosed with prostate cancer shortly after I first became aware of this event and is going in for surgery before the end of this month, that’s how serious it is. So of course I will be attending this. If you’re in the GTA and can make it, I urge you to do the same – not only are you getting a night to top-notch entertainment but you are also supporting an extremely worthy cause. Artists unite April 13 to break barriers surrounding prostate cancer in black communities.

Sway Magazine will raise awareness April 13 with Santé Soirée, a blowout benefit that brings together some of Canada’s hottest performers in conjunction with Prostate Cancer Canada. The star studded line-up will be co-hosted by the Juno Award-winning darling Divine Brown, the homie, Solitair (now known as Silver) and star comedian Trixx, known for his sell-out performances at Yuk Yuks and appearances on Much Music’s Video On Trial.

Doors open at 7:00pm for this mélange of intimate performances, with complimentary cocktails from Bacardi Rum, Lifford Wines and Molson Canadian, with Caribbean-fusion delicacies like ackee and callaloo spring rolls, being served by Chef Washington of Room Service Restaurant and Catering.

Ticket price includes a donation to Prostate Cancer Canada and a one-year subscription to Sway magazine.
