I Do Declare: The Return of the Real Young Jeezy Finally?
A couple days ago I decided that, even though it wasn’t brand new (never a motivating factor here at The Kitchen any more), I was gonna do a post around Young Jeezy’s “Real N-gga Anthem”, the last (and IMHO, the best) track from his recently-released The Real is Back 2 mixtape which my homegirl, Anousheh had texted me urging me to listen to. Little did I know that the very next day he was gonna premiere a neutron bomb of a track and presumptive first next single from his long-delayed and (still?) anticipated fourth album, Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition, “I Do” featuring Jay-Z and the (happily becoming more ubiquitous recently) Andre 3000.
After re-constituting my fully-melted brain, I proceeded to cane this track on repeat for the better part of yesterday. Others dismiss the notion but I would argue: is this not the natural successor to the epic “International Player’s Anthem” by UGK & Outkast?? AMAZING! Don’t try to argue otherwise.
Now enjoy and put an ear to that “Real N-gga Anthem” track too and tell me that ain’t a nice little gem too. The full The Real is Back 2 mixtape for your listening pleasure is after the jump. TM103? Count me in as excited to hear it. Welcome back, Jeezy!
