The T.I. mixtape, I think me and everyone knew about in advance but isn’t this apparently official new Raekwon mixtape a pleasant but (pun intended) unexpected surprise? Or maybe I’m just out the loop nowadays?? Just starting to play it – musically it sounds solid but they coulda taken the time to master it properly! :/ Shout to the T.dot’s JD Era though who’s all over this joint and a cameo from CL Smooth too??! Nice!

Happy New Year! First big mixtape drop of the year on the first day of the year. With cameos from Young Jeezy, Pimp C (R.I.P. of course always, but there’s still unused Pimp C verses laying around or is this recycled from something and I’m just not recalling it ??!), Meek Mill, Pusha T, an actually really good track with Nelly and gasp, Dr. Dre (although a track that’s been circulating in some form or another, as even Dre says in his verse, for a while now). Second half sounded better to me than the first which makes sense when you see the names behind the boards (Dre, Just Blaze, Mannie Fresh, Hit Boy and DJ Toomp) but maybe that’s just me??
