[MP3] Nas – Black Bond featuring Kardinal Offishall

Kardi version of a track from Nas‘s recently-released Life Is Good album, not bad….

[Audio] Listen to a Sampler of Nottz – In My Mind: The EP

I’ve slept on Nottz even though I really, really dug his single, “Shine So Brite” from the You Need This Music (and he’s right, you do need that music! Go check that out if you haven’t already…). I just got up on this from trying to clean out my blog email inbox. This is from early June! Needless to say it’s a banger. Wanna to hear the entire thing, which is 8 tracks, though? Go to Brandon Soderberg’s now SPIN-powered No Trivia hip-hop blog HERE for a stream of the full EP.

[Audio] The bbe Laid Back Mix Series pres. the Boddhi Satva – Africa Mixtape

Boddhi Satva – Africa by Laid Back on Mixcloud

This is nice! Peep the science here:

Hailing from Central African Republic, Boddhi Satva vowed early in his career to make a statement through a signature sound of his own. Ancestral Soul was born.

Boddhi’s debut album INVOCATION is available now on BBE Records, after it was released in Africa in 2011 by Vega Records, the label of the legendary Louie Vega. Louie hand-picked Boddhi in 2008 to be an elite producer for Vega Records and resident of Vega DJ tours. INVOCATION confirms the solid place that Boddhi established for himself in the house music landscape.

[MP3] DJ Kay Slay – Microphone Murder feat. Beanie Sigel, Freeway Young Chris & Tray Lee

Philly, Philly! This dropped a few weeks back but I was too busy in the midst of my grand Polaris Long List adventure to post this then. Still worth doing so now though. Hip-Hop the way I like it: grimy, bangin’ and hardcore (not gangsta!). And whattup, Tray Lee, Esq.??! Good to see you back behind a mic! Track from the forthcoming Kay Slay album, Rhyme or Die.
