The crew at Digiwaxx sent me this a while back. Is this kid the next Bruno Mars (or Ne-Yo)? He may already have something poppin’ on radio and I’m late here but if not, I think this kid could be huge. I actually hear shades of Michael Jackson too on some of the tracks but I know better than to be fool enough to even try and anoint anyone the next version of him because that’s a once in multiple generation talent we lost in 2009, basically irreplaceable. [NYE Event] New York: Say Bye to 2012 with Nas at Radio City Music Hall

Ironically I had just posted this track on my Facebook because it still resonated for me with respect to the issue that preoccupied my life for most of this past year and then I saw Nas was doing this show tonight in NYC so it made total sense to re-post it here. I’ve been sick with flu the past few days and am still recovering so whether I can get to some wrap-up posts before 2013 arrives is debatable although if you follow me on Pinterest, you already have a pretty good sense of what my album list is going to look like. Stay tuned though, I have a few other final posts I want to try and get done today anyway too. Finally, shout to the homie, Adonis on his artist, Elle Varner getting the opening slot on the show tonight.

After spending most of my afternoon shoveling snow from the aftermath of the same storm that inspired Slakah to create this track, it felt only appropriate to post it…

Woke up to a storm yesterday. My goal was to create at least two full instrumentals. I purchased a used Yamaha AN1X a few months ago but never really had the chance to use the sounds in that synth so today I finally got a chance to do it and most of the synth sounds are from the AN1X.
