This has apparently been floating around online for some time but is still pretty amazing. A rare look at an early version of one of the Golden Era’s greatest musical moments. Shout to NYC DJ, Lord Sear for bringing this to my attention via my soundlcoud stream. Hearing this makes me think Trinidad James was right! Don’t be mad, Maino….
New track by T.dot’s The Weeknd from the soundtrack to the forthcoming first sequel,Catching Fire from the blockbuster Hunger Games film series. Not hearing much of a Rick Rubin influence on this one to be honest, at least on initial listens, that is.

Hit the jump for The Weeknd’s remix of Lorde‘s #1 pop hit, “Royals.”
I know I’m a tad late in blog time but where do I start with this one?? First off, did Lorde cover this topic (sexism & materialism in the music industry) better on her smash hit, “Royals”? And is this as racist and objectifying of Black bodies as the work by Miley Cyrus that Lily Allen seems to be critiquing in this parody video for her comeback, first single in four years?

First single from hot producer, Mike WiLL Made-It‘s forthcoming mixtape, #MikeWiLLBeenTriLL with an assist from Wiz Khalifa and Migos. I suppose I’m betraying my out-of-it status by not really knowing who the f-ck Migos is!
And in case you missed it (if that’s even possible for those of you who actively follow contemporary hip-hop, hit the jump for Mike Will Made-It “23” featuring Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa, And Juicy J.
