[MP3] J. Smiles of The Block Brothas – Vino

artwork Vino - J.Smiles (The Block Brothas)

New music from an up-and-coming uptown, Harlem crew, The Block Brothas. Nice chop of The Whispers “You Are Number One” (aka the sample from Monica‘s “So Gone”)

[MP3] De La Soul – Vocabulary Spills (Produced by J. Dilla)

Oooh, oooh, oooh!
Here’s another track from the Smell The Da.I.S.Y. (Da Inner Soul of Yancy) mixtape project De La Soul created to celebrate the life and legacy of James D. Yancy aka J Dilla which drops this Wednesday (3/26/14) as a free download at www.wearedelasoul.com!

Sounds like the homies in De La have got a battery in their back and have a gang of new (and free!) music in the works. Check out these other upcoming projects in the works besides Smell The DA.I.S.Y.:

– The Premiem Soul On The Rocks Mixtape (produced by DJ Premier & Pete Rock – whaaa??!)

You’re Welcome (Album)

Can’t wait!

[MP3] Listen to An Unreleased Track From D’Angelo’s Live at the Jazz Cafe Album

D'Angelo Live at the Jazz Café, London: The Complete Show

This Al Green cover and two other tracks were left of the 1996 original release of this album (which I have although it’s in storage right now :/ ) but will be on the Live at the Jazz Café, London: The Complete Show reissue coming out this Tuesday (March 25). Personally, I’m still waiting for a DVD of the Voodoo tour to be released though. The show at Radio City Music Hall stands to this day as the best concert I have ever seen.
