Bold words but you know what, out of all these new ‘producers’ that kids go nuts for nowadays, Hit-Boy is one of the very few in my opinion who actually has the talent to back up his bravado. His HITstory mixtape was very, very good. No joke. I’m looking forward to his We the Plug album when it drops….

Yes, this kid is from my birth town of Coventry. He’s not bad, Aisle 9 is a decent first effort at a mixtape album by such a young artist although his flow can be a tad clunky at times. He’s got pretty solid songwriting instincts for a newcomer though so hopefully he’ll improve as he continues to work on his craft on future music. I’m mostly posting about this here on the blog though because track 4 on Aisle 9, “Faith” features my cousin, Mya May Graham and, no bias on this, I think she sounds great!

[MP3 + Music Video] Dan-e-o feat. SepTo & Rich Kidd – Get Up On It
Great visual for veteran Toronto rapper, Dan-e-o‘s latest single “Get Up On It” reminiscent (to me, at least) of the Hype Williams-directed video for Busta Rhymes‘ “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See” The track, with able assists from fellow T.dot spitters SepTo and Rich Kidd, is a banger and comes from the album, Inevitable (Dan-e-o’s third) available on Bandcamp & iTunes.

Another anthemic one after that Future banger just posted. For those not knowing, this is ETC!ETC! of iHome Mad Decent Block Party Official Mixtape fame. That main sound effect (see the opening of the track and the 5:17 mark for reference) is from a film, right?? I just can`t remember which one though (anyone??)…. [update: I think I figured it out: World War Z]
