Solid hip-hop track from a new (?) cat, C.Wilson from ‘Sauga. That’s Mississauga, ON a satellite city next to The 6 best known as the home town of OVO-affiliate, Partynextdoor. Speaking of which….

Not sure what’s going on here? Black Keys gets a song credit but I’d be shocked if this is them actually playing live on this track like on the pioneering Blakroc project, Damon Dash put together as opposed to a looped sample, but I could be wrong. More guitar music??! Two in a row? Is the Kitchen going indie on y’all?? Not at all but long time followers know I’ve been a fan of this San Fran-based duo for a while. They actually have T.dot connections as they are signed to the Toronto-based label, Last Gang Records for Canada. This is from their forthcoming new EP, Cataract dropping July 24th.

Changing it up for a minute: a little indie guitar rock by NYC-based Modern Diet. I don’t post a lot in this lane but something about this track appeals. I think ‘cos there’s kind of a 60s soul element to their sound, maybe? These still in college kids are showing a lot of promise, their whole eponymous album is pretty solid too. Listen to it HERE.
