Can’t go wrong when using samples of Bob James‘ “Nautilus.” Is Brooklyn MC, Ockz debut album Halal Chinese Food, really the “Muslim Illmatic” though??!
Nicki and Iggy (!) aside, there’s not enough female hip-hop in the game nowadays so this new track, produced By Mista Lawnge of BlackSheep is more than welcome:
Individually they are: Carolina Dirty, Dominique Larue, Monie Love and MyVerse. Collaboratively they make up, Heresy an all-female Hip Hop group that will quickly remind you, what you’ve been missing in Hip Hop music.
All well established Emcees in their own right; united, these ladies are a calculated combination of strength and femininity. In their self-titled EP, HERESY set for release on August 14th 2015, they share their stories and keep it – Ladies First.
Y’all dig?
I’d normally be skeptical of any rapper who claims influences from “Tupac to Guns and Roses” but when you feature “video vixens” doing Vinyasas in your music video, I’m gonna take you on your word on it! This is two tracks from Pomona, CA rapper, 86Joon‘s 86 EP.

That chorus is reductive in the worst way but overall this ain’t a bad track.
Collab cover of Drake’s duet with Jhene Aiko, “From Time” from his Nothing Was The Same album by Hamilton, ON-based producer, L-SPEX and Toronto-based vocalist, Kirsten (with additional keys by Patrick Dilkie). Posting cover songs is not our thing here at The Kitchen usually but this one is pretty great. Listen and tell me I ain’t right on this.
