Just came in from doing a lap swim work out at my local pool. The weather was perfect and the lifeguards had pretty great taste in music so that’s got me in a sunny, weekend, poolside frame of mind for tune postings now. So why not start with a couple off the third album, Learn to Wait from Australia’s Lo Tide whose tropical sound fit the bill perfectly! The album dropped June 15 on Organik Recordings in the US. Even a reggae dullard like me knows that Chronixx has been the buzz artist in the genre for the past year or two. Now here comes a brand new track not on his Dread & Terrible album from the man dem that increasingly touches on social issues. Not that he was the only one of course, but salute Chronixx from bringing social issues and themes back into popular consciousness of mainstream reggae after decades of slackness & violence from dancehall.
