Latest single by Long Island Golden Era legends, De La Soul with indie alternative darlings, Little Dragon. Brilliant. Looking forward to hearing their new The Anonymous Nobody album dropping August 26 that it comes from. It’ll be De La’s first album since Grind Date to be released for digital and streaming. Only thing sadder than the fact that the core catalog one of the greatest groups in all, not just hip-hop, music is inaccessible is knowing that the release of this new album means summer is really drawing to a close already!

I’ve been tracking this new OVO-affiliated, T.dot-based singer, Roy Woods as part of my work on the Polaris Music Prize jury but somehow have neglected to post anything by this dude here at The Kitchen. To rectify that oversight, here goes his most recent single, “Gwan Big Up Urself” released at the start of Summer.

In a “One Dance”, “Work”, “Controlla”, Machel Montano world, this should be massive for the rest of the summer. The 2.8 million plays it’s already gotten on Soundcloud suggest my safe prediction is already coming true. His other recently-released song, “How I Feel” might be just as big?
