Hasn’t been that long since we last heard from KALLITECHNIS but always great to hear some new music from this MTL singer.
We’ve been a fan of this new Toronto rapper for a minute now. Nice to get a new full lenght project from him. RIYL stuff like 88 Glam, Nav, Playboi Carti and new school trap, hip-hop and drill type sounds. Peep the PR science:
U Met Me At A Strange Time reflects on the many losses the Toronto native experienced during the recording of this project. He discusses his close friend, Kosi who died alongside Drake affiliate, Smoke Dawg this past June. Also, he touches on the lengthy prison sentences that have plagued his friendships. Additionally, Nue was in the middle of a breakup when he met a new love interest. It’s strange timing for fans and music lovers to meet the complicated anime lover. Delve into the newcomer’s paralyzing carelessness and narcotized narrative.
ABOUT NUE
Currently on a Canadian tour with Fetty Wap, NUE kicked off 2018 with “Deadman” and “Nightfall,” which premiered on Noisey. He just released the “Nightfall Remix” with Toronto’s Pressa and the official music video. Growing up in a Jamaican household in Toronto, NUE great a love for anime and basketball. After encouragement from his family, he began recording in his brother’s basement and caught the attention of everyone with his critically acclaimed debut mixtape, Iroquois.
Toronto’s Sylo Nozra just dropped his mud mask EP. Peep game:
Toronto-based vocalist/producer Sylo Nozra has released his long-awaited album Mud Mask. The album premiered exclusively with i-D who stated “Sylo certainly delivers R&B’s hallmark heart-on-sleeve romance and raunch, but his slightly mumbled delivery shrouds it in a layer of mystique.” This album was co-produced by Sylo alongside frequent collaborator Goldchain, and Juno Award-winning producer Lantz (Jazz Cartier).
Mud Mask provides eight vibrant singles with smooth tempo soundscapes complimented with tropical rhythms. His syncopated instrumentation and sultry vocals will captivate listeners from beginning to end. Sylo’s impassioned melodies flow harmoniously within each of the tracks, while his lyrics explore various phases of relationships, and lessons learned during these processes.
What y’all think of it?
