Dedicated to all my OG London, UK soul boys. Should have posted this yesterday for #ThrowbackThursday but you know, life….
Track from Masia One‘s Bootleg Culture mixtape album. This is not really new but it’s just getting a North American release now.
Previously on The Kitchen:
Masia One feat. Pharrell, The Game & Isis – Errrybody (MP3)
We posted an MP3 a couple weeks back. Now here comes the video (and a chance to finally hear the full length version) for this excellent new track by UK soul icon, Omar.

The Odd Future OFWGKTA massive on David Letterman?? Bizarre! LOL at the Temptations-style dance moves Tyler and Earl Sweatshirt are doing in the background….

Cool music from T.dot-based singer-songwriter-producer, Aaron Bird. Is this soul of the electronic or pop variety, R&B or something else? You be the judge. Not sure the vocals are quite as stellar as they ought to be, after all there’s a lot of contenders in the new school blue-eyed soul field from Ben Stevenson locally and Adam Levine & JT in the mainstream to Daniel Beddingfield, Mike Posner, Ben Westbeech and Colin Munroe who were lighting up the blog world three, four years ago (and indie artists, Alex Boyd, Phil Beaudreaux and Matt Patterson who I’ve featured here at the Kitchen). But this video is a really well done take on the same idea Kanye explored in his “Flashing Lights” video. Dig Bird’s vibe? Check out his “The Whole World Knows” video, also directed by Andre Dupuis, director of the TV show, ‘Departures’HERE.
[Thanks Ty for the heads up….]
