I had heard Cash Money had signed 90s rock-rap refugees Limp Bizkit but after no music had surfaced (or if it did, it never made it on my radar), I assumed that whole thing had gone away. I guess not….
I could make an argument about how pathetic it is that the once indomitable 50 cent has to now ride ‘It’ rapper, Kendrick Lamar‘s coattails to stay relevant, but you know what? This track is actually pretty good! To my ears, at least. Agree?
See what he did there? You thought this sometime (?) Dr. Dre-protege was gonna flip the Dre track, “Popped Off.” Instead he celebrates the ‘old school’ golden era over a classic Kool & the Gang sample “Summer Madness” flipping a very early (Illmatic era) Nas/QB-like flow. My kind of sh-t….
