I have not turned in to one of those corny album upload blogs. This is strictly for streaming, NO DOWNLOADS. Getting on my marketing speak though: I think I finally understand the ‘value proposition’ of the Kid Cudi ‘brand’ after initially being lukewarm (or in hindsight, maybe just confused?). I dig the new album and think it’s really good but almost an hour of Scott Mescudi’s stoner hip hop-inspired music is a little too much.
Some music doesn’t work as background music. They demand your attention lyrically. Kid Cudi works better in the background; it captures a mood. I’ve definitely had some of those moments.
