Did you ever think you’d see a day where Uncle Murda‘s year-end Rap Up would get more plays than Skillz‘ long-running year-in-review missives?
Per Phoenix‘s Soundcloud page:
Phoenix release “Alone on Christmas Day”, a cover of a long-lost Beach Boys holiday track from 1979 that was never formally released. Phoenix’s version features a little help from Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, former “Letterman” musical director Paul Shaffer, and New York Dolls’ David Johansen, and appears in the Netflix original holiday special, A Very Murray Christmas, directed by Sofia Coppola. All profits from the song will go to UNICEF.
This track is cool but posted this one because they do a nice homage to Redman‘s “I’ll Bee Dat”, one of my favorite videos of all time, in the video. Hit the jump for an actually, IMHO, better track, “It’s You” featuring Baige O Bannon.
No idea who the f’ Buckwheat Groats are but this “Tom Hanks” track (and video!) are just ridic! These dudes totally send up the recent trend in mainstream of trap hop and drill tracks being named for celebrities and show just how easy (and how wack) it is to do it with this absolutely absurd, over-the-top video. Note: this video is very NSFW!
