New year, let’s start with some new unsigned and indie artist to celebrate. Starting with Cali-based female MC, iLL Camille. Turns out long-time homie, Kish has worked with her and TDE soul singer, JaVonte who I posted end of last year and is featured all over her mixtape including the final track, “Rennaisance” above, so that’s all the more reason to begin with her. Enjoy!
Dig her stuff? Listen to the entire iLL Camille – iLLUSTRATED mixtape album on the DK Facecbook page HERE.
This is the latest offering from Tommy Boy, the seminal hip-hop/dance music label that gave you Three Feet High and Rising, “O.P.P.”, “Jump Around”, “Ladies First” and “The Humpty Dance”!

And even more hip-hop. I discovered this one completely by accident on Good Tunes while shuffling through, er… shuffle.fm. This is super-dope! When I say I think this young lady just made the album Shortie No Mas was supposed to 15 yrs ago, I mean that in the very best way possible….
From the The Never Back Down EP out NOW!!! Dig that hit the jump to hear another track from the EP, or if you’re on RDIO like me, listen to the full EP HERE.

Caught homegirl live at Manifesto last weekend. Didn’t realize she’d dropped this mixtape last month. Gonna check it out right after I finish listening to the new Blu & Exile album this morning.
