My people,
I was asked by George Stromboulopoulos if I wanted to produce a song for his holiday show on CBC radio 2 (The Strombo Show). After feeling conflicted I ended up making this song “Greetings of Peace” talking about real issues (first nations water, imprisonment, etc) in spirit of holidays and peace. He really loved it and aired it on the 20th as part of his special. But now it’s open for the world to hear. I attached it below. It’s about challenging the listener which I feel is very important as artist.

Phoenix’s version features a little help from Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, former “Letterman” musical director Paul Shaffer, and New York Dolls’ David Johansen, and appears in the Netflix original holiday special, A Very Murray Christmas, directed by Sofia Coppola. All profits from the song will go to UNICEF.
