I Do Declare: The Return of the Real Young Jeezy Finally?

A couple days ago I decided that, even though it wasn’t brand new (never a motivating factor here at The Kitchen any more), I was gonna do a post around Young Jeezy’s “Real N-gga Anthem”, the last (and IMHO, the best) track from his recently-released The Real is Back 2 mixtape which my homegirl, Anousheh had texted me urging me to listen to. Little did I know that the very next day he was gonna premiere a neutron bomb of a track and presumptive first next single from his long-delayed and (still?) anticipated fourth album, Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition, “I Do” featuring Jay-Z and the (happily becoming more ubiquitous recently) Andre 3000.

After re-constituting my fully-melted brain, I proceeded to cane this track on repeat for the better part of yesterday. Others dismiss the notion but I would argue: is this not the natural successor to the epic “International Player’s Anthem” by UGK & Outkast?? AMAZING! Don’t try to argue otherwise.

Now enjoy and put an ear to that “Real N-gga Anthem” track too and tell me that ain’t a nice little gem too. The full The Real is Back 2 mixtape for your listening pleasure is after the jump. TM103? Count me in as excited to hear it. Welcome back, Jeezy!

[MP3] Kish – Vapors 2012 feat. Dan-e-o & Maestro (Cuts by DJ MelBoogie)

MP3 Download: Vapors 2012 (radio) ft. Kish, Dan-e-o & Maestro (Cuts by DJ MelBoogie) by DJ MelBoogie

This was sent to me a couple days back by long-time homie, Big Kish. For all y’all who only listen to stuff like A$AP Rocky, Odd Future and Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire this track might go clear over your head. Be clear: this is grown man, classic style hip-hop! Watch the Biz Markie original if you’re wondering/ain’t knowing where this song came from.

[Music Video] Mac Miller – Party on 5th Avenue

MP3 Download: Mac Miller – Party On Fifth Ave

From the article, “Mac Miller On Way to Indie History at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart” in Billboard.biz:

“Recent Billboard magazine cover man Mac Miller is on his way to his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, as his debut effort, “Blue Slide Park,” should easily top the list next week. Industry sources suggest the set will sell upwards of 180,000 copies by Nov. 13.

The Rostrum Records release is distributed by INgrooves via Fontana Distribution, Universal Music Group Distribution’s indie arm.

If “Blue Slide Park” bows atop the list, it will mark the first independently-distributed debut album to hit No. 1 since 1995. The last (and only previous) was Tha Dogg Pound‘s “Dogg Food.” It started in the penthouse on the chart dated Nov. 18, 1995, with 278,000 sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. “Dogg Food” was released on Death Row/Interscope, but independently distributed via Priority.”

Wow, 180,000 units f-cking units sold?! In 2011??! From my semi-dismissive semi-snarky posts on Miller all the way back to becoming the biggest new rapper in the game a year later. Mac Miller: I’m sorry I doubted you but shout to the homie, DJ Mark the 45 King, Ed Lover and word to “The 900 Number.”
