Wall Street Journal and ESPN on the mainstreaming of the Dougie Phenomenon

Seeing Skip Bayless doing the Dougie is a scary thing….

Amazing how Cali Swag has caught all the props for the Dougie phenomenon when it originated in Dallas with artists like Lil Will. Oh well, c’est la vie. The all-time best use of the Dougie still in my mind was when the NY Jets’ Braylon Edwards caught a taunting penalty for doing the Dougie after his touchdown catch in the Pats game. LMAO….

New Music: Freedom Writers – Wake Up!

This is what music is (or could/should be) all about:

“Freedom Writers is not a group; it is a Movement. Seven of Toronto’s most talented artists have joined forces to create one of Canada’s most creative and dynamic musical endeavors to date. ”

The Freedom Writers are Frankie Payne, Theology 3, Tona, Adam Bomb, Mathematik and Progress with Production & Audio Engineering by Big Sproxx. Freedom Writers is a cool name but they should have called themselves The Group of Seven. They’re Canadian and artists so they’ll get the reference….

Cool out and just listen to Len Bowen’s Long Story Short EP

Don’t know too much about this cat but he’s another T.dot spitta. Sounds cool enough, if you like your hip hop a little more throwback/traditional sounding. Check it:

New Music: 4th Pyramid feat. Greg Nice & Cosmo Baker – It’s So Hot (Sheen Bros)

Greg Nice twice in one week?! Dude seems to be having a comeback of late reinventing himself as a party MC-for-hire on all these hipster, club rap records. I’m not mad at him. We still love him more for being in Nice N Smooth though!

New Music: Lil Wayne – 6’7″ feat. Cory Gunz

ROFL, just turned on Hot 97 as I was finishing this post and this track was playing – tell me they weren’t playing this track 20 mins, straight since Enuff started spinning his afternoon drive show at 5pm??!

This is the track people said was “A Milli” on steroids though, right? BTW: based on the hook, shouldn’t this song be correctly titled, “6’7’”?? < /nerdery>
