MP3: Aaron LaCrate feat Flavor Flav & Greg Nice – Ayo Ayo by milkcratenyc
Love Nice N Smooth, love Greg Nice, love PE and Flav, of course and even like dubstep and Aaron LaCrate but I don’t think this is really any good. Sum of the parts thinking unfortunately doesn’t seem to be in play here. Disagree?

California hipster-rap duo signed to a French record label. Go figure….
MP3: Lexicon “Calls” by Laitdbac Records
From the Rapstars album, irony of that title fully-intended, I’m sure… (can you imagine dudes like this trying to put an album out under that title in say, 1992? How things have changed – for the better I think though, no?)
This is not exactly my thing but I dig it a little and it’s Van-City (Vancouver) representing! What made me decide to post it for sure though was that (I think) as a kid I had the exact same boombox shown at the beginning of the video – crazy!
Here’s the official plug too:
“DiRTY RADiO (aka Farshad Edalat) is a Vancouver-based singer/songwriter/producer and multi-instrumentalist.
Known throughout the Vancity music scene for his vocal and percussion abilities, he has been crafting his sound over the past few years all while writing, producing and remixing for other artists including Sherry St. Germain, Chin Injeti, K-OS, and Kay. 2010 saw the release of his first solo album titled Debut, a progressive pop experience, infused with hip-hop, R&B and dance influences. The record was written, recorded, produced in Vancouver’s Greenhouse studios by progressive music production team SEX-ED (which he also co-founded).
He is currently enjoying national exposure with his first radio single “MY HEART” featuring Vancouver-artist/producer Sherry St. Germain. The album Debut is available digitally from off his website at dirtyradio.ca, as well as on iTunes.”
Get a free download of the track with some sort of twitter-based f-ckery.
Hit the jump for better look at the radio from the front cover of his album and then try to tell me that’s not the same radio!
What’s this, you ask? Let Scion A/V explain:
“Scion has announced their latest foray into the wide world of remix culture, offering up a free EP by Mobroder, the house music side project of Naeem Hanks, Blu Jemz, and DJ Hoff. On Scion A/V Remix: Mobroder-Rush (The Remixes), they take the track “Rush” and leave it to a slew of creative minds to reinterpret the results.
Nile Delta approaches “Rush” with a particular disco sensibility, filtering the vocals and pushing the synth progression to center stage. The driving cowbell of In Flagranti’s interpretation sets the pace for a searing take, after which Turbotito presents a wholly different and no less danceable rendition. A pervasive, end-of-days darkness characterizes the Hardy Boyz cataclysmic remix and the collection is rounded out by a Shazam remix of “Love Duet” which features a saucy verse from Amanda Blank.
In its continual effort to show support for the arts, Scion covers all production, licensing and distribution costs for the A/V projects, and all proceeds go directly back to the label and artists involved.
Scion A/V Remix: Mobroder-Rush (The Remixes) is also available for streaming on Scion’s new lifestyle portal, ScionAV.com and via the Scion AV Radio App for the iPhone ®, iPod Touch ®, and iPad ®.”
Dig that? Then hit the jump to stream the entire project. (more…)
I’ve supported a bunch of these West Coast dudes’ great remixes on the old blog. Here’s the first (I think) by the Religion DJ’s on the new blog:
