Download The Stepkids Shadows On Behalf

I posted the MP3 for this track before. It was one of my favorite songs of 2011 no question.

[MP3] Beatface – You Shook Me All Night Long (AC/DC cover)

Yes, really! A cover of the classic frat rock track by AC/DC. This coulda been a travesty but I think it actually turned out not bad! Agree?

[MP3] Vaccination – La Lascivious / I’m With The Others

Some cool ‘post-punk’ style music vaguely in the vein of Joy Division to my ears (or read their rambling self description):

Vaccination met at the frst gig in February 2010. Proposal – We’re a band / it’s art. We invent new songs at each performance. Making up the band are a Crowleyian neo-folk duo, Yo Majesty‘s beat maker, Portuguese space-rock royalty, a banker (now fired) and a counterculturalist / fantasist.

Rotor City urban energy conflagrates along konkrete autobahns. The acoustic instruments get drowned out by the preacher man’s megaphone. A machine takes the role of the shaman’s drum – we play to beats that we program into our smartphones on the bus. We seek to meet with the ghosts of former selves and find the primeval electro-magnetic release. Alienated rocklaimations in English as a foreign language. Errors honoured as intentions and framed in the edit. An unapologetic, unironic embrace of both the abandonment of basic rock’n’roll and the contrary glee of avant garde anti-cliches. Pollution with melodies. Kraut Nouveau. The mixolydian mode. Pretentiousness. Lack of shame. Some bands never get any further than the rehearsal room so it seemed like a good plan to skip that stage and get a gig. Like walking over a minefield, hoping for the best. We deal in pain….”
