We posted a Drake leak (“How About Now”) last week. Well two more tracks dropped around the same time both produced by Boi-1da/Syk Sense and 40 respectively. Are you impressed?

As noted in my IG video above, Black Milk absolutely MURDERED it last night at Tattoo. This was unquestionably one of the best shows that I have seen this year and, believe me, I’ve seen a lot of shows this year and I also say that as very much a casual Black Milk fan, at best.
He’s a dynamic, amazing performer on stage and his Nat Turner band is incredible. Milk is currently on tour. If he hasn’t already been to your market, I urge you to go see him regardless of what music genres you claim to love. Yes, he’s a rapper but this is a flat-out amazing live music experience, period. Faith in music restored….
Track featuring Bun B of UGK from Black Milk‘s forthcoming album, If There’s A Hell Below album, out October 28 but which you can hear now via: New York Times PRESS PLAY | Bandcamp | Pre-order iTunes
Where I’ll be TONIGHT (for the first half of the night, at least…)
I won’t lie: I kind of missed the recent ascent of local, Tdot rapper, Tory Lanez (update correction: no, I didn’t) but I caught him at his North American tour final homecoming date at The Drake Underground this past Sunday and quickly got up to speed with his Lost Cause mixtape, which the tour was for, in advance of that.
NOW mag may not have been a tad underwhelmed by the show but I, on the other hand, was pretty impressed (or at least I was with the last 4-5 songs I managed to catch). It’s hard to dismiss a show where an artist has as much control over the audience as I saw Lanez command. As I said on twitter, Lanez seems to have taken Drizzy’s creative template and actually might out-Drake Drake with it.
The tracks above come from Lost Cause. Dig them? Check out the entire Lost Cause mixtape on the Kitchen Facebook page HERE. Between this and the Sean Leon show I caught at The Hoxton, I feel pretty good about the odds of Toronto at keeping a post-Drake stranglehold on hip-hop dominance for the next while. #the6ix
