Well it’s finally here!
If you follow me on twitter, personally or my blog or follow me or the blog on Facebook, you’ve been seeing me drop the #DK11 hashtag all over the place for the past few weeks.
So what’s it been all about?? Well, this month marks the 11th anniversary of this here blog. I missed doing something around the more obvious 10th anniversary last year due to life and work issues but, because we do things different here anyway not just in name but in deed too, we decided to make sure and acknowledge this year’s anniversary.
On August 11, we will be releasing This One Goes to Eleven…, a compilation album featuring eleven brand new, exclusive tracks (plus two bonus tracks that have seen only very limited released) by artists who have been long time favorites here at the blog.
To kick it off we have the promo trailer for the very first single from This One Goes to Eleven…, “Known P.S.A.” by Toronto hip-hop duo, The Names Are Known. Hit the jump to watch it and to read the full press release on the album. Then come back tomorrow to hear the full track and then every day after that to hear more tracks from This One Goes to Eleven… before it’s full release on 8.11.14.

Latest single from Toronto’s D.O. from his forthcoming mixtape, Home For The Summer, hosted by DJ IV. Track produced by Amsterdam beat maker, Statikmusic who also did D.O.’s “I Live For This pt 1”. Hit the jump to hear that and watch the video shot in Monaco (swag!):

This came out a while ago (March ’14!) but I just caught wind of it the other night. Track’s from the In My Opinion mixtape album that came out last year. Shout to the start of the video being shot literally across the street from my apt. in front of Gangster Burger and Cosmos Records. It’s all goes a bit Stanley Kubrick from there on out though, just watch….
This track is f-cking amazing! Been missing Amy Winehouse‘s throwback soul vibes? I gave you one option a while back. Toronto’s Melanie Durrant might be another if this “Four Seasons” is any indicator. Tell me I’m wrong here??
