Some of you young ‘uns might only know the name Charlie Wilson as the government name for Uncle Charlie, a frequent recent collaborator of Kanye West on his recently acclaimed My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album and G.O.O.D. Friday series of free tracks at the end of last year. As the keeper of Dilla’s creative legacy (all those Dilla beat-tapes y’all have swiped online come, in one way or another, from master tapes directly out of his archives), he is perhaps the most qualified to produce a proper J. Dilla mixtape.
