The right song for the right moment. The legendary De La Soul drop a devastating anti-Donald Trump screed with the help of Public Enemy‘s Chuck D, Mysonne, Pharoah Monch, Styles P & Talib Kweli.
From Montreal-based MC and #DK11 alum, Jai Nitai Lotus, a lttle holiday-themed music:
My people,
I was asked by George Stromboulopoulos if I wanted to produce a song for his holiday show on CBC radio 2 (The Strombo Show). After feeling conflicted I ended up making this song “Greetings of Peace” talking about real issues (first nations water, imprisonment, etc) in spirit of holidays and peace. He really loved it and aired it on the 20th as part of his special. But now it’s open for the world to hear. I attached it below. It’s about challenging the listener which I feel is very important as artist.
Much love!

I’m sure it’s probably been done already before (??) but I never heard it if has been. Here’s a nice flip of Fabolous‘s “Breathe” by NYC underground MC, Mr. AT for his commentary on the Eric Garner murder, “I Can’t Breathe” (with an excellent video directed by Chris Castro). Simple but effective….
This is fantastic! Hit the jump for the related track by Declaime, “Cops Ain’t Sh-t.”
