Why Did Wikileaks Take so Long To Support Whistle-blower Pvt. Bradley Manning?

Wikileaks head Julian Assange claims in the above video that wikileaks technology means they can’t even be certain that Manning is the source of the US military cables & videos they leaked! :/ But outrage at their lack of support seems to have prompted some action on their part in the past week apparently:
