When is the deadline?
Deadline for Round 1 has been extended to May 6, 2011.
What Is SBR?
Sound Battle Royale is Canada’s only live beat battle series. We’re looking for 32 of the dopest, most hungriest producers to battle it out in 4 shows for a chance to win over $2000 in cash and prizes. Last year’s judges included Tone Mason, Rich Kidd (Ridgeway Ent), Big Pops (Northern Profit) and Jake One (Rhymesayers Ent).
What do you mean a LIVE beat battle?
Exactly what we mean. You tell us what gear you need and we set up a studio on stage for you to battle it out with 31 other producers with your dopest sh-t. For more details about the beat challenges, check out www.soundbattleroyale.com/battle

At the Embassy Night Club to benefit awareness about prostate cancer and the Black community.
Canadian Black men are 65% more likely to get prostate cancer than white men and almost three times more likely to die from the disease. This is no joke! In fact, someone in my immediate family was just diagnosed with prostate cancer shortly after I first became aware of this event and is going in for surgery before the end of this month, that’s how serious it is. So of course I will be attending this. If you’re in the GTA and can make it, I urge you to do the same – not only are you getting a night to top-notch entertainment but you are also supporting an extremely worthy cause. Not in the area or can’t make it? Please retweet or post this to your Facebook page (social sharing button now back in place on the site!). Every new impression helps. See the flyer above and below for more details:

New event in support of the Toronto brand management company, The Truth. Here’s the skinny:
“I wanted to have the type of night where the DJs could play classics from Tribe/Outkast/Souls of Mischief but also play grimier club songs from Wayne, Dipset, Clipse, Jay, Kanye. Should be a lot of good people and good music.”
I’ll probably be there for a hot second. Drop a comment if you are too.
