Yes, that is a remake of sorts of Justin Timberlake‘s “My Love.” Peep the PR science:
A haunting force within Toronto’s diverse music scene, William Darc dives into the darkness with his enigmatic r&b. That notion is readily apparent on “My Drug”, a brooding reinterpretation of Justin Timberlake’s timeless “My Love” that ups the risqué with raw, provocative vocals and thunderous production to match. It’s the first taste of his forthcoming Darc EP, an immersive release produced entirely by fellow Toronto talents, Rainer + Grimm who had a hand in production on The Weeknd’s iconic House of Balloons and even used the same studio where ‘The Party & The After Party”and “Wicked Games” were recorded.
“My Drug” is already out. The Darc EP drops next month (April 27th) via Bleeding Hearts Club.
Listened to this official full length by Toronto artist, Anders a few times since its recent release and we like it fine but we wish he’d stretched out a little further to create his own sound and lane. We hear shades of Nav, Majid Jordan, Drake, The Weeknd and others all over this record but what make Anders Anders??! I guess we’ll learn have to the answer to that on future releases, hopefully…
After somewhat of a hiatus, Future Hendrix is back and a very busy man!
New joint from Toronto soul singer, Kris produced by Junia T. Hit the jump also for her recent collab, “Paid” with fellow Toronto vocalist, Saya.
