I’ve been tracking this new OVO-affiliated, T.dot-based singer, Roy Woods as part of my work on the Polaris Music Prize jury but somehow have neglected to post anything by this dude here at The Kitchen. To rectify that oversight, here goes his most recent single, “Gwan Big Up Urself” released at the start of Summer.

In a “One Dance”, “Work”, “Controlla”, Machel Montano world, this should be massive for the rest of the summer. The 2.8 million plays it’s already gotten on Soundcloud suggest my safe prediction is already coming true. His other recently-released song, “How I Feel” might be just as big?
