I like this kid! Could he be the new Chris Brown? With Breezy still a bit of a mess personally, there’s a lane of a new clean-cut Black R&B teen idol, no? This is nothing new but it is impeccably executed: the songs are more than solid and he sounds great. Like boy bands, there’s always a welcome mat out for the latest incarnation to stake their claim to the throne. Does Jacob Latimore have what it take, you think?
Dig what you hear? Check out Latimore’s entire introductory This Is Me mixtape which dropped last week.
What do I need to say here? It’s Bilal tackling one of Stevie‘s best. How’d he do, you think?? On a semi-related note, was Stevie ‘too high’ when he agreed to (then later reneged on) performing at an IDF fundraiser event.
In the month of November, 2010, Mara Hruby released her debut EP entitled “From Her Eyes”. Exactly two years later, this November 30th is the mark of the first release she has exposed since her golden introduction to the world. Simply Beautiful is exactly what her new song represents, pun intended. Covering Al Green’s “Simply Beautiful”, recorded in the Love Den, Ms. Hruby has engineered, arranged, and produced this soul evoking tune, playing only objects found in her home, accompanied by acoustic guitar played by Nate Mercereau & Steve Wyreman. Listen closely and you will hear her playing spoons, loose change, a metal buddha head with a safety pin, and scratching against a scarf. This raw release is a thank you to all that have supported me in my journey of “From Her Eyes” with love and light. Welcome to her heart, home and soul.
