[MP3 + Music Video] Alice Russell – Heartbreaker

Good Sunday morning vibes! First single from British soul and blues singer Alice Russell’s forthcoming fifth album, To Dust. Single is released tomorrow, the album next February (!). I digs!

[MP3 Mashup] Dosvec – IX

I tend to ignore most emails about mash-ups I get nowadays, but I’ve liked and posted a couple things this cat has done in the past so I checked this one out because I was on a bit of tear clearing out my blog inbox tonight and posting a few things I’ve heard and been digging on the tumblr (mostly) and this was one of them. Check it:

“IX” Roman Numeral for the number 9 utilizes 9 different songs to create 1 silky smooth mashup : -)

Vocals = J. Cole ft Trey Songz “Can’t Get Enough” / / / Calvin Harris ft Arah Marar “Flashback” / / / Twista ft Erika Shevon “Wetter” / / / Chris Brown “Look At Me Now” / / / Calvin Harris ft Ne-Yo “Let’s Go” / / / Afrojack and Steve Aoki ft Miss Palmer “No Beef” / / / Background = Marina and the Diamonds “Lies” / / / Alanis Morissette “Uninvited” / / / Chris Brown “Look At Me Now”

[Video] Decoded: Miguel – The P Is Mine (interview + performance)

I’ve said it before, the Kaleidoscope Dream album by Miguel is being severely underrated despite being one of the best albums of the year IMHO. It’s also being overshadowed by the admittedly deserved hype around Frank Ocean‘s (somewhat similar sounding) Channel Orange album. Well, The Kitchen is going to try and help rectify that situation if we can. Look for a Miguel CD album and Dec. 11 Toronto concert ticket giveaway coming soon courtesy of Sony Music Canada. Until it’s that time though, enjoy this video of Miguel courtey Hova‘s Life + Times lifestyle site.

[New Artist] Introducing… Ivanunknown – So Close So Far (Middlefield) (MP3)

As my homegirl at the 546inthemorning tumblr put it: “Sublime and sexy electronic soul from Toronto.”

This is recommended if you dig The Weeknd (or is it a yet another Abel knockoff as some have called fellow electronic-soul artist, Talwst?)

[MP3] The Weeknd – Enemy

New track apparently not part of the official, commercial release of his three mixtapes under the name, Trilogy on November 13. Word to The Smiths“Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want” on the chorus.
