MP3: Chris Brown – Beautiful People by latroywatson
I go back and forth on these Euro-dance-flavored urban records but this one I think I like. With a few hits in a row now, is Chris Brown fully-rehabilitated now? In the eyes of core urban fans, I think he is. As for the mainstream media and pop marketplace though, I’m not so sure…..

I originally posted this when it first dropped two years ago to coincide with Aaliyah’s passing but thought I’d post it again since: 1. DJ Concept is dope and 2. I didn’t really see any new tribute projects cross my transom this year to celebrate her birthday( ??).
Track List:
01. You Wont see Me Tonight-Nas Ft Aaliyah
02. Are You Feelin Me?
03. Try Again

06. One In A Million
07. Are You That Somebody?-Aaliyah ft Mad Skillz

MP3: Faith Evans Ft Raekwon- Everyday Struggle by Modern Day Marvels
One of my favorite contemporary soul singers drops a joint sampling a track of the same title from her estranged husband, the late great Notorious B.I.G. classic debut album, Ready to Die with an assist from the Chef.

Producer/artist, Jack Splash‘s year-end look back with an assist by long-time (and way underrated) Bay Area ‘neo-soul’ stalwart, Martin Luther. This is the first single from Splash’s Future of the Funk album dropping next year featuring cameos by Cee-Lo, B.O.B., Jennifer Hudson, Estelle, Plantlife, Anthony Hamilton, Raheem DeVaughn, Goapele, Lemar and many more!
