First new single from Rapsody‘s forthcoming new album, EVE, the follow up to her epic, brilliant, classic Laila’s Wisdom featuring D’Angelo on the chorus and a guest verse by the Wu-Tang Clan‘s GZA over an interpolation of his classic “Liquid Swords” single. The song is a tribute of sorts to Muslim Olympic fencer, Ibtihaj Muhammad featuring absolutely stunning imagery of young, Black female Muslims adorned in head scarves like Muhammad.
We were big fans of West Coast MC, Massiah‘s #ImWithKap anthem from last November, “Stand” around these parts. Now here’s comes another loosie about Bron’s move to the left coast to join the Lakers. Peep game (pun intended):
In the wake of LeBron’s huge announcement this past weekend, that he would be joining the LA Lakers for the 2018-2019 NBA season, Vancouver-based rapper, Massiah (fka Kai Sky Walker) has decided to let fly a loose track titled, “Ball”. Written over a year ago, this playful ode to the notorious Ball basketball family prophesizes LeBron’s move in the last line of his final verse:
“Big Baller, I might bring LeBron to the Lakers, Lavar to the haters, I…Ball…”
Massiah’s debut audio/visual project Angel of Sin, is expected for release end of Summer 2018
Maybe Drake dissed Jay-Z on this Lauryn Hill-powered ode-to-‘Johnny Football’ track, but how people figure he dissed Chance The Rapper??!
Er, what??! I know wacky Harlem Shake videos kind of exploded as a viral video meme last week (or so), but what is the motivation for this truly bizarre but apparently completely official video?? I have no idea but I’m guessing it’s the same forces that have me predicting that Baauer‘s 2012 trap anthem is gonna have a second wind and be just as big, if not bigger, this coming summer. Mark my words….
