Where the NOLA rap superstar explains why he’s actually not a Saints fan and the reason he remade Wiz‘s “Black and Yellow” for the Packers instead of composing an original new anthem.

Wayne‘s pro-Packers “Green and Yellow” remake.
Y’all getting ready for tomorrow? I just came in from copping some supplies (wings, shrimp, veggies and dip) before listening to the final (?) episode of the Mixtape Massacre on CKLN. Toronto heads know: that Saturday 1-4pm slot has been playing underground hip hop since the early-mid 80’s. People who came up on Doug E. Fresh, pre-Def Jam Slick Rick, BDP and the first 12inches on Def Jam as played by Ron Nelson’s pioneering “Fantastic Voyage” show know that this time-slot was essentially the cornerstone of Canadian hip hop – the place where an entire industry was schooled, trained and launched from on the artist & the DJ/executive side.
Before hip-hop became a mainstream radio & TV staple, saturated on a million blogs and basically on-demand on the Internet, listening to CKLN on a Saturday afternoon was de rigeur: virtually the only way to hear the music. Before that, finding hip-hop to hear was unbelievably difficult: you had to have connection to people who had money to buy all the 12″ vinyl singles or lived in the US who could send you tapes of radio shows there. Even though I was away from Toronto for a long period of time, any time I was back in town, I tried to plan my Saturday around hearing the show out of sheer habit of having grown up listening to it every weekend. But more on this later this week. It’s all about football for the next while now so enjoy the Banner Super Bowl joint…

I guess we know who Wayne’s going for in the Superbowl now. Not sure I’m riding w/ him on that one though. Gotta respect Coach Tomlin!
Tracy got in trouble for saying Sarah Palin is ‘great masturbation material’ (is he wrong??) TNT should be figuring out a way to hire him full-time! You know how many more people would tune in just to find out what he might say next??!
