Copped on cassette (yes, you read that right) last night at the Spek Won video release party where Brendan was the opening performer. I was gonna buy it anyway just to support, but was cracking on him until I realized I actually still have a cassette player in active use in my apartment right now, lol. See the video above

With an able assist from the homie and Kitchen fave, Miguel is this the track that will catapult Janelle Monae into the mainstream? (If the use of “Tightrope” in the Chevrolet Cruze commercial didn’t already do it, that is!)

I was away on a short vacation last week when this dropped. Super pop but not bad. #Latepass but honestly I don’t think anyone’s still talking about this after the neutron bomb that is ‘Control’ dropped.

This popped up randomly as an auto-suggest on my Soundcloud but it’s kind of fiya and I say that as someone who’s had sometime issues with Mayer Hawthorne in the past. Remix of a track from his latest album, Where Does This Door Go which dropped July 16th.
Latest remix from local T.dot producer, M-Rock, this time tackling buzzy underground Euro-soul group, Quadron. A little Ivana Santilli sounding for my taste but it’s light, frothy & sweet sounding. Perfect like a Sunday brunch mimosa for this long (?), hot summer we’re having.
Also, look for M-Rock covering for Mark Ronson on his “Authentic Sh-t” radio show this week while he’s away where he’ll probably spin some of his recent remixes and edits!
