Only 41?! That’s a damn shame. For you young’uns, before R. Kelly, T-Pain, Trey Songz, Drake or Akon, as a rapper this was the only dude you wanted singing the hook on your track and, while he never attained the success solo he had collaborating with others, he coined a whole sub-genre of R&B sometimes called R&G and is considered a legend in hip-hop music. Check out one of his greatest moments on Warren G’s classic G-Funk anthem, “Regulate”:

Apparently this is the first official street single off Game‘s The R.E.D. Album (hmm, where have I heard that before?!). And should I feel conflicted about supporting what is essentially an homage to the Blood gang lifestyle though?? On a lighter note, what is that sample? Sounds like some pop-techno track that was poppin’ from a few years back?? [update: thanks to readers, Dracz and Joe for pointing out that it’s Zombie Nation‘s “Kernkraft 400”]
