Ready for the Fight: Rolling Stone Interviews Barack Obama

BRING IT!!! Obama on the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Mitt Romney:

“I think the general election will be as sharp a contrast between the two parties as we’ve seen in a generation. You have a Republican Party, and a presumptive Republican nominee, that believes in drastically rolling back environmental regulations, that believes in drastically rolling back collective-bargaining rights, that believes in an approach to deficit reduction in which taxes are cut further for the wealthiest Americans, and spending cuts are entirely borne by things like education or basic research or care for the vulnerable. All this will be presumably written into their platform and reflected in their convention. I don’t think that their nominee is going to be able to suddenly say, “Everything I’ve said for the last six months, I didn’t mean.” I’m assuming that he meant it. When you’re running for president, people are paying attention to what you’re saying.”

Read the full article HERE. And, in case you missed it, hit the jump to see the president shout out Young Jeezy. Recent events in Canada notwithstanding, how do you NOT vote for him just based on this?!

[News] Toronto Young Jeezy Show at Sound Academy Shot Up!

I should have known how this night was gonna end when I went through the far too shoddy and cursory ‘security check.’ That being said, against my better judgement I proceeded to go in anyway and endured an hour of wack opening acts before 5 shots, which I at first thought were firecrackers, went off, scattering the crowd and shutting down the show before Jeezy ever hit the stage.

F-ck you T.dot knuckleheads for ruining everyone’s night and possibly (but I pray not) worse with this idiocy. Lived 17 years in NYC and never (to the best of my recollection) had the misfortune to experience a shooting in a club (although there was one time in Miami at a Luke party during a How Can I Be Down conference in the late 90s…) but come home to this??! Life’s too short as is, I’m not trying to unnecessarily make it any shorter….

President Obama on the Trayvon Martin Case: ‘If I Had a Son, He’d Look Like Trayvon’

This case is so mind-numbingly sad if only for being so unsurprising the way it’s turning out when you consider historical context. One particularly outspoken online pundit noted some chilling, even if not necessarily apropos, comparison to facts around this story and was dismissive of today’s call-to-action but I wore my hoodie up all day.

F-cking tragedy, absolute f-ckery, take your pick….

[video] CNN on the Sneaker Head Frenzy Around the Nike Foamposite Galaxy Shoe Release

Honestly, I guess I’m too old now but I’m not really feeling this shoe at all so I don’t get the frenzy. This is what I’m rockin’ nowadays at less than half the price, thank you Converse. I guess Nike don’t care, they’re getting my money either way!

WTF??!? This video makes Nicki Minaj‘s Grammy performance look tasteful & understated!
