I’ll give Belly credit. He’s an artist who’s actually only gotten better with time. Not many rappers or musicians in general can make that claim. The Toronto artist just dropped his brand new IMMIGRANT album today. Stream it in FULL above.

[Album Stream] Nate Husser – 6º EP

Montreal’s Nate Husser has long been a favorite around these parts. In fact, so much so that we were blessed to get a track from him, the fiya-ass “Duck Hunt” for our 15th Anniversary Quinceañera: Marvelous Ish compilation album. Today he drops a fantastic new 3 track EP called . Peep game:

Today, Nate Husser, the buzz rapper who has been called “one of the artists I’m most excited about now” by The FADER; who sounds like “if Vince Staples fronted Pavement” according to Noisey; and who is praised for his “uniquely insightful raps with druggy surreal psych-rock” by Pigeons and Planes releases his much anticipated EP alongside a new video for the song “Oldie.”

Nate Husser first started his career in the heart of Montreal’s Little Burgundy with his acclaimed hip-hop band The Posterz. He broke out as a solo act with his 2017 debut Geto Rock for the Youth. The EP’s vibey, feely and nostalgic mood is a stark contrast to his live performances, which are injected with a certain genuine punk attitude that differentiates him from the rest of his peers.

In 2018, Nate Husser unveils a three-part music project that tells a semi-autobiographical story of an artist and the love-hate relationship one has with his hometown. The EP released today showcases arguably his most melodic music release to date. On the EP’s tormented but triumphant closer “Oldie”, Husser raps “Leaving my city just for the better/ If I make it I might not come back ever.“ Whether he stays or goes, Nate Husser is clearly making moves.

[MP3] The Darcys – Chasing the Fall

We like the new single by Toronto’s The Darcys. Here’s the PR backgrounder:

Toronto duo The Darcys follow their summer sizzler, “Just Here With My Friends” [feat. Leah Fay of July Talk], with “Chasing The Fall”, sharing the single today, prior to its release tomorrow, October 12.

“Chasing the Fall” is about taking a tumble down the rabbit hole. It’s a night in your life that starts out strange and only continues into disarray. Discussing, Wes Marskell from the band stated, “I like the images of Zinfandel by the pool, casinos and heart-shaped jacuzzis, as they all have the kitsch of a love story in a bad movie. However, there’s an unlikeliness to the events, hitting the jackpot or rain in Palm Springs, and you get the feeling you’re letting someone take you on a ride that’s full of chaos. Once you’ve done it, you’ll do anything to do it again.”

Always the life of the party, The Darcys music is lush with vibrant synths, 808s and funk bass that makes their sound feel as at home in today’s modern pop landscape as it would in a crate of classic vinyl. Never shy of taking a risk, the critically acclaimed duo have created an expansive body of work that includes three full-length albums, a 20-minute instrumental piece, an atmospheric interpretation of Steely Dan’s AJA, and a number of collaborations. The band’s last studio record, 2016’s Centerfold, is a California postcard, rich with themes of escape. 2018 sees another evolution for The Darcys as they turn their gaze inward, writing songs with a maturity and social awareness not heard on previous releases. This isn’t to say the party is over, if anything it’s just begun.
