[MP3] Throwback Thursday with Bestival Toronto Headliner Nas – It Wasn’t You Feat. Lauryn Hill

A little throwback to celebrate the fact that the legendary MC, Nas is headlining next month’s first ever Bestival music festival outside the UK right here in Toronto. Those of you who saw his amazing Time Is Illmatic tour set last year already know what it is. June 12-13: Don’t Sleep!

For you young’uns, this is QB’s finest featuring his sometime creative partner, the equally legendary Lauryn Hill singing a Roberta Flack hook on this unreleased track that’s being doing the rounds on the internet since at least 2006 (which is, gulp, 9 years ago now!) which is when I first posted it.

Rah Digga‘s commentary on the negative criticism of the more violent aspects of the Baltimore pretests? One thing I can say for sure: Digga is consistently one of the most grimy MCs out and, not to be sexist although this may come across that way, as one of the few woman in the game, veteran or otherwise, that’s a telling statement about where hip-hop is in 2015.

You may be familiar with the name, Sam I Am Montolla from her feature appearance on #DK11 alum, Jai Nitai Lotus‘s track, from the Different Kitchen 11th anniversary compilation, This One Goes to Eleven.
