Jeremih is a cult R&B artist who deserves to be bigger than just his sole (?) “Birthday Cake” mainstream hit and (currently) being feted primarily in hipster PBR&B circles. This banger of a track with current biggest rapper in the world, J. Cole may help rectify that situation.
Amazing video for an amazing song from a great album. Also check the cool flip by NYC underground MC, Hus Kingpin, a cat I only just got up on recently because of his recent collab with the homie, Agallah the Don, after the jump.
This is so cool (although I kind of wish someone like Questlove or Mark Ronson would have been given a shot to produce this). Fifteen years after Pops Staples, patriarch of the iconic Staple Singers died, daughter Mavis Staples has teamed up with her collaborative partner Jeff Tweedy (producer of her albums, You Are Not Alone and One True Vine) to finish the recordings of his final tracks that he made in 1999. The tracks will be released as Don’t Lose This on February 17 via Wilco‘s dBpm imprint and Anti-.

I won’t lie, I totally missed Rapsody‘s Beauty and the Beast EP to my detriment. This female MC is FIYA and for my fellow T.dot/GTA residents, she is playing here TONIGHT! I suggest you act accordingly and get down to this show. I’ll be there. Will you?
