Spotted on my homegirl’s Tumblr, this moody sounding, left-field electronic female vocal track (they used to call stuff like this ‘trip hop’ back in the day, kids!) by Fatima is a heater. And produced by west coast hip-hop producer, Scoop DeVille??! That’s probably the most surprising thing about it. Enjoy and: you’re welcome!
“Mature handsome mixed with a lot of ig’nance” Yes, it’s a new single & video from the A-Trak x Cam’rom featuring some classic Dame Dash uptown (dip)sh-t talking and an obligatory ‘No H-mo’ reference from Killa (still? In 2014??! In the Jason Collins/Michael Sam era??!). From the Federal Reserve EP, coming soon. Hit the jump for A-Trak’s cut with Milo & Otis, “Out The Speakers” featuring Rich Kidz.
Nice way to kick off a Sunday morning: a reggae/ska remix of Pharrell‘s “Happy” by Cousin Cole. Why not??!
Amazingly this kid, who’s been ‘bubbling’ in NYC for a few years now, is actually going to be performing on the main stage at this year’s education of Hot 97’s Summerjam. This one is giving me Power of the Dollar or Guess Who’s Back? era 50 Cent vibes (“Swaggerjacking at an all-time high!“). Is Hot hoping this kid is the second coming of ‘Fitty’, here to save NYC?? I’m not gonna hold my breath on that. Track off the B$B Records Vol. 4 compilation album….
Sometimes it’s hard to remember that Ron Browz, the man behind “Ether” is from Uptown, Harlem NYC. #justsayin….
