I discovered Ms. Cook a few weeks back via some radio PA’s enclosed in a press release email sent from a UK PR company (hit the jump to check them). Turns out she’s UK punk rock royalty, the daughter of Paul Cook from the Sex Pistols who’s also done some work with The Slits and Clash offshoot group, Big Audio Dynamite. I did a double-take when I found out she was biracial. Her dub reggae-infused Britpop is a perfect soundtrack for a Sunday afternoon. I know it’s the 10th anniversary of 9/11 and I used to acknowledge the date on the old incarnation of this blog with special dedicated posts. But 10 years later, if there’s anything I’ve learned from having gone through that harrowing day all those years ago, we heal by moving on with our lives. But we never forget those who were not afforded that beautiful gift.

[Music Video] Jigg – Keys to the City (from the High Grade mixtape)

Saw this over at the dope house and was pretty impressed. Haven’t gotten into the whole High Grade mixtape (which is after the jump) but this record over a Nipsey Hustle beat is CRAZY! Dunno about the ig’nant drinking and driving imagery but from a purely artistic point of view, this might be the hottest new southern MC since Killa Kyleon. Speaking of whom….

I know this has been out for a minute but this is incredible. Seriously. I run kind of hot and cold on the The-Dream but this mixtape is crazy. I’m assuming by the gold, luxe-style artwork that he’s been partially inspired by the Watch the Throne movement here??
