New single from a GTA artist I wasn’t up on before. Peep the PR background:
Otis Silver has collaborated with many artists within the Durham Region and Toronto area, carrying out performances that have been able to entertain and capture the attention viewers and aims to diversify his music. Otis Silver had begun his music journey in 2015 with his first EP “Eternal Youth” and shortly after releasing his project was invited to do a multi-performance Showcase/ Contest in Toronto. During these shows Otis had pushed his creativity to create his second EP “Flowers”. After three rounds Otis Silver worked his way through the competition and won the competition and thereafter began his full pursuit of music creation.
About the single “Catch Me If You Can”:
His first single “Catch Me If You Can” is a fun upbeat song that tells the story of trying to get out of a sticky situation. “The song’s story line starts with waking up with a girl in my bed who was not originally there when I went to sleep. From that point on the woman makes many attempts to try and lead me away from the girl I love to be with her instead. ” – Otis Silver.
His rhyming voice kind of reminds of Trae the Truth although he rhymes faster than him. Dig the track? Cop it on iTunes.
Misspelling in the title aside (!), this is long overdue project:
It’s no secret Toronto has recently placed itself amongst North America’s most buzzworthy music cities due to the blockbuster ascents of Drake and the Weeknd. But that attention has also turned the city’s local rap scene into a hyper-competitive, prolific, and highly creative environment where young artists are fighting for attention on the world stage. Noisey’s latest documentary feature is set in the middle of this vibrant scene, to profile some of its most exciting artists who are potentially on the cusp of international success. Featuring Big Lean, CMDWN, Friyie, Jazz Cartier, Pressa and Prime Boys.
Back to our regularly scheduled (Canadian) programming. The first one here from a month ago needs more of a song (arrangement, change-ups etc.) but we like the vibe on it and the other tracks he just dropped yesterday showed a marked improvement on that front. Lot of potential with this young gunner. Hit the jump for two more tracks that BaByBoiRasz dropped yesterday and let us know if you agree…

This sounds like a potential hit in today’s hip-hop environment. Look at his press pic, you already know, right??! Hey, maybe it already is, we often miss when these things happen. Is it on Rap Caviar, that the KPI.

Two goth kids
Dance to The Cure
Never fit in
misunderstood
Maybe just too ratchet
Maybe just too bored
u never fucked me over
How do I know for sure
This here is, to put it as politely as possible, what they call hip-hop decidedly not made for the ‘hood! Check out the background:
“2 Goth Kids” was inspired by one night when Jack was at a goth club in LA and had a moment of unfiltered bliss while dancing to The Cure’s “Lovesong.” Premiered by Hypebeast, it was placed on Spotify’s Clout Culture playlist and featured on Apple’s Alternative Releases upon release. Bruno is releasing two albums in 2018 produced by DJ Camper (Big Sean, Drake, & HER) and Hit Boy. His upcoming singles will feature Ski Mask the Slump God, Playboi Carti, and G-Eazy.
Not sure what we think of this yet but if it f-cked around and became a (novelty?) hit, we wouldn’t be at all surprised.
