[MP3 + Music Video] Matthew Progress – Oxygen
We here at The Kitchen were big fans of underground Toronto MC, Matthew Progress‘ excellent Night.Rhetoric Mixtape EP and featured a couple of songs from it here on the blog in September of last year. Here goes some new music from him complete with a ‘Belly-inspired’ video.
[MP3] Major Lazer – Wave Feat. Kali Uchis
This dubby, downtempo Major Lazer track is fantastic! Evidence that these dudes can probably make great records for a long, long time to come. Don’t sleep on this. Just hit play….
Bonus:
Hit the jump for another joint from Major Lazer featuring Ty Dolla $ign, Wizkid, & Kranium. Yeah, you’re probably gonna want to hit play on that one too!
[MP3] Lauren Frawley – Here (Alessia Cara Cover)
Been meaning to post this cover version track for literally weeks now. In the meantime Canadian singer, Alessia Cara, who did the original, has gone from being buzz artist to verging on full-on, blow-up status as has this cover version based on the spin count for it! Good to hear Portishead (or technically actually the Isaac Hayes sample used for Portishead’s “Glory Box”) in this context though, no, for those of you who remember either of those tracks from back (and way back) in the day?
[MP3] JR Castro Feat. Timbaland – FMN (Prod. By Timbaland)
New R&B production by the ‘Emperor of Sound‘, Timbaland. We digs!
[MP3] Alchemist – Jabroni Feat. Migos & Mac Miller
Different sound with BIG drums for Alchemist on this one, plus autotune! That might have a few purists’ panties in a bunch, I’m betting….
